吴传庆博士（FDA）：As I mentioned , I had suggestion regarding the administration of SARS, and afterwards I discussed with my FDA fellows. They all think it  will be practical and useful. Concepts and rationales are as following:

1. It has been shown that the majority of SARS patients can recover themselves indicating the specific immunity against SARS virus has been developed.

2. The sequence variability of SARS has been reported not to be as great as initially thought. In other words, the virus is relatively stable so

that the treatment such as IMMUNOLOGICAL TREATMENT to this virus is feasible.

3. Some reports have unveiled the good results for these individuals who recovered from SARS infection by using the serum from other recovered

SARS patients, strongly supporting the specific immunoglobulin against SARS is developed and is working effectively.

However, it is not appropriate to use the serum from others directly. The obvious reason is the safety issue. We know, the blood or plasma obtained

from other is not secure because of many other diseases and infections like potential HIV, HBV and HCV etc. that can be even more harmful than

SARS. Therefore, I propose that the government should call on and encourage to collect donated plasma from these recovered patients, pool

them (can be done by any Bio-pharmatheutical Co.), strictly screen the virus, then purify the highly specific antibody against SARS virus, which

will be a fast and prominent approach toward the SARS in addition to other measures that have been taken right now.
